A cup of water. The smallest, least impressive, most ordinary thing a person can do for a child.
You have done a hundred versions of that today. Drinks, shoes, a hand on a forehead, finding the toy.
None of it is beneath notice. He picked the smallest example on purpose, so nobody could say their own work was too small to count.
Count the cups of water. Literally — how many times did you get somebody something today?
